ReachScreen operates an advertising network on screens in physical venues such as gyms, salons, barbershops and cafés. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we deliberately do not.
The most important thing: we do not watch anyone
Our screens have no cameras, microphones or sensors. We do not detect, count, recognise or film the people in a venue. We have no way of knowing who saw an advert.
What we record is that a specific advert was displayed on a specific screen at a specific time. That is a fact about our own equipment, not about any person.
If you are an advertiser
When you create an account and run adverts we hold:
- Your name and email address, and your password stored only as a secure hash — never in readable form.
- The adverts you upload, and any caption, budget and targeting choices.
- Reports of when and where your adverts played.
- If you use our mobile app and allow notifications, a device token so we can notify you.
If you are a venue
We hold your business name, contact details, venue type and address, the screens assigned to you, any promotions you upload, and your estimated earnings.
If you contacted us through the “List your venue” form, we hold what you submitted — including the map location you chose, if you chose one — so we can get back to you about installing a screen.
From the screens themselves
Each screen reports which advert played and when, whether it is online, which version of our app it is running, and short technical status messages used to diagnose faults. This is equipment diagnostics; it contains no information about customers.
Why we hold it
- To run the service you asked us for — showing adverts and reporting on them.
- To take and account for payment.
- To keep screens working, and to detect abuse or unlawful content.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising unrelated to the service.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of service providers to operate ReachScreen. They only receive what they need to do their job:
- Our hosting provider, which stores the service and its databases.
- An email provider, to send account emails such as password resets.
- Google Firebase, to deliver push notifications to the mobile app.
- Google Analytics, to count visits to our website — only if you accept analytics cookies (see below).
- Payment providers, to process payments for plans. Card details go directly to them — we never see or store your card number.
Some of these providers operate outside Nigeria, which means your data may be processed abroad.
Analytics and cookies
Our website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve it. It runs only if you choose Accept on the cookie notice. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, it does not load at all.
When it runs, Google Analytics sets cookies and receives technical information such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. We do not send it your name, email address or account details, and it is never used on our operator console.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of our website’s pages, including this one. Rejecting after accepting removes Google Analytics’ cookies. Our other cookies are strictly necessary — for example, to keep you signed in — and do not need consent.
How long we keep it
We keep account, campaign and payment records for as long as you have an account and afterwards for as long as we are legally required to (for example, for tax and accounting). Enquiries that do not become venues are deleted once they are clearly no longer relevant.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to us using the contact details below and we will respond within the time the law allows.
Security
The service runs over encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed, uploaded files are checked before they are accepted, and access to operator tools is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects you we will tell you and the regulator as required.
Children
ReachScreen is a service for businesses. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.
